Always Get all agreements in writing. Verbal commitments or promises
are impossible for you to prove.

Never Accept delivery of a vehicle until all written promises or
commitments have been fulfilled or completed to your satisfaction.

Always Write on your deposit check “Subject To Mechanical Inspection”.

Never Sign a purchase agreement that states “Deposit non-refundable”.

Always Pay by personal check or bank money order.

Never Pay with cash or leave a cash deposit.

Always Ask questions and for proof of any claims made about a vehicle
history, repairs or maintenance.

Never Get talked out of your right to have a pre-purchase inspection.

Always Ask if the seller is a dealer or broker. There is no such thing as a
“private dealer” or “private broker”.

Never Make payment(s) payable to any person or entity other than the
person or dealer that is selling you the vehicle. Make check pay-
able to the name on the title or the name on the dealers license
along with the dealers license number.

Always Call Michigan Auto Inspectors when you are ready for your
inspection.
